Our Food Pantry & Volunteer Church Programs

One way to share you love of God is to help each other and those in need. We offer a number of volunteer church programs you can join or donate to. Below you’ll find information on our ministry team who you can be sure to meet when you participate in our church services.

Church Activities, Services and Volunteer Programs

Food Pantry

To help address hunger within the community First United Methodist Church, in partnership with the NH Food Bank, operates a weekly food pantry service. The pantry is open every Tuesday from 8:00am to 11:30am. For more information call the Church Office at (603) 622-8863. Donations of food are most welcomed! A NH driver's license with current address and a current utility bill is required to register.
Parish Nurse Program

First United Methodist Church is in partnership with the Parish Nurse Program within the Manchester community. Nurses are available every Tuesday morning at our food pantry, to check blood pressure, etc. In the fall, free flu shots are provided to clients coming to the pantry!
Clothing Ministry

The Clothing Ministry is open every Tuesday from 8am to 11:30am. There is no charge for clothing and clothing donations are welcomed!
Sacred Dance

First Church's Sacred Dancers share their gift the 3rd Sunday of every month. Rehearsals are on Thursday evening at 7pm - new dancers are welcomed! Call the Church Office @603.622.8863 for more information.

Thanksgiving Baskets

In partnership with First United Methodist Church’s Food Pantry and the NH Food Bank, we give out over 150 baskets for Thanksgiving every November. For more information contact the Church Office at (603) 622-8863 or office@fumcmanchester.org
Community Christmas Dinner

First United Methodist Church prepares and serves Christmas dinner to friends within the community on Christmas Day. For more information about this 40+ year old ministry, or to make a reservation, contact the Church Office at (603) 622-8863. There is no charge for this event.
Music Ministries

First UMC rehearsed every Wednesday evening in the sanctuary - 6:30pm to 7:30 pm. All are welcomed to come and sing to the glory of God!

Pastor - Rev. Dr. David Palmer

Director of Music

Family Ministry Coordinator

John Young graduated from Palm Beach Community College in 1996 with an Associate of Arts Degree in Psychology and from Palm Beach Atlantic University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Ministry in 2007. His desire is to show God’s love for others and tell others about his love for Jesus. “I know that through Jesus is the love of life that God made us to experience!” John resides with his wife, son and two daughters in Merrimack County.

Administrative Assistant

Karen serves as First United Methodist Church's Administrative Assistant. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education & Special Education from Rivier College and a Master of Education Degree in Learning Disabilities & Language Disorders from Notre Dame College.
